Getting Here<\/h3>\n

As a port city, and as one of the largest cities in Canada,\u00a0Vancouver is accessible by land, air, sea, and rail. The\u00a0Vancouver International Airport (YVR)<\/strong> is ranked as one of the top airports in the world, and is located approximately 14km away from the Vancouver Convention Centre (about 30\u00a0minutes drive).<\/p>\n

In addition,\u00a0Via Rail\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0western transcontinental train follows Highway 1 from Vancouver to Kamloops.\u00a0Amtrak\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0Pacific Northwest route travels daily between Seattle and Vancouver.<\/p>\n

There are many ways to get around Vancouver on the water, including the SeaBus which connects downtown to the mountainous North Shore. You can also take the\u00a0ferry<\/a>\u00a0from Victoria and Nanaimo on Vancouver Island.<\/p>\n

Directions<\/h3>\n

TransLink<\/a>\u00a0provides city transit for tourists and residents seven days a week via buses through its rapid transit system, SkyTrain. With the opening of the\u00a0Canada Line<\/a>, the Skytrain\u2019s newest line, travel between the Waterfront Station (2min from Vancouver Convention Centre) and Vancouver International Airport has been significantly reduced to 26 minutes per one-way trip. This allows for a more convenient trip for international travellers to and from downtown Vancouver.<\/p>\n

By public transit (from YVR)<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Follow the Skytrain signs.<\/li>\n
  2. Board Train \u2013 980 \u2013 Canada Line Skytrain at the platform sign \u201cCANADA LINE TO WATERFRONT\u201d. The trip is approximately 30 mins and the cost is $8.75 CAD.<\/li>\n
  3. Disembark at Waterfront Station Northbound.<\/li>\n
  4. Head northwest on W Cordova\u00a0St toward Howe St.<\/li>\n
  5. Turn right at Howe\u00a0St.<\/li>\n
  6. The Vancouver Convention Centre is straight ahead at 999\u00a0Canada Place.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    By car (from YVR)<\/strong><\/p>\n

    1. Head west on Grant McConachie Way.<\/li>\n
    2. Make a slight right at SW Marine Dr and continue on Granville St.<\/li>\n
    3. Once you come into the city over the Granville Street Bridge, take the Seymour Street exit off the bridge.<\/li>\n
    4. Follow Seymour Street and you will come to W\u00a0Cordova\u00a0Street.<\/li>\n
    5. Turn left on W\u00a0Cordova\u00a0St, then turn right at Howe\u00a0St.<\/li>\n
    6. The Vancouver Convention Centre is straight ahead at 999\u00a0Canada Place.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      By car (from Highway 1)<\/strong><\/p>\n

      1. Head northwest on HWY-1 W toward Exit 73.<\/li>\n
      2. Take exit 27 for First Ave.<\/li>\n
      3. Turn left at E 1st Ave, and stay on it until you get to Nanaimo St, then turn right.<\/li>\n
      4. Stay on Nanaimo St. until you reach E Hastings\u00a0then turn left.<\/li>\n
      5. Stay on E Hastings until you reach Seymour St then turn right.<\/li>\n
      6. Stay on Seymour St until you reach W Cordova St.<\/li>\n
      7. Turn left on W Cordova St, then turn right at Howe St.<\/li>\n
      8. The Vancouver Convention Centre is straight ahead at 999\u00a0Canada Place.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Visa Information<\/h3>\n

        Visitors to Canada require a valid passport and many require a visitor\u2019s visa. For information on visa requirements and exemptions please check with the nearest Canadian Embassy, High Commission or Consulate.<\/p>\n
